Cookie Policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
This policy explains how ComboPilot Media Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies on combopilot.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website places on your device to remember something about your visit — a preference, a setting, or (with your consent) information that helps the site's owners understand how it is used. Cookies set by us are "first-party"; cookies set by other companies through our pages are "third-party".
2. How consent works on this site
When you first visit, a banner offers three equal choices: Accept All, Reject All, and Cookie Settings for a per-category choice. Nothing beyond essential cookies is set until you choose. Rejecting cookies never limits your access to any part of the site. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the Cookie Settings link in the footer, and your choice itself is remembered in an essential cookie.
3. Categories we use
Essential cookies — always active
Required for the website to function. They cannot be switched off, because the site does not work without them.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| cp_consent | Remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask again on every page. | 12 months |
Analytics cookies — off by default
Set only if you allow them. They tell us, in aggregate, which articles are read and how visitors move through the site. We use this to plan coverage, never to identify individual readers.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics — distinguishes visitors and sessions in aggregate statistics. | Up to 24 months |
Marketing cookies — off by default
Set only if you allow them. Used solely to measure whether announcements of our own content reach readers; we do not run third-party advertising networks on this site.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| cp_campaign | Records, anonymously, which of our own announcements brought you to an article. | 3 months |
4. Consent signals
Our site implements Google's Consent Mode v2. Until you make a choice, all optional signals default to "denied" — meaning no analytics or marketing storage occurs. Your later choice updates those signals accordingly.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
Beyond our settings panel, every modern browser lets you view, block and delete cookies globally — look under Privacy or Site Settings in Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge. Blocking all cookies at browser level may prevent the site from remembering your consent choice between visits.
6. Questions
Anything unclear? Email [email protected] and a person — not a bot — will answer. Complaints about our handling of personal information may also be made to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
